Integrated Technology ServicesThis field works to utilize technology to assist environmental planners and resource managers in making critical decisions. This addresses some of the issues with environmental data management such as objectives and constraints, design of data collection networks, statistical and physical sampling, remote sensing and GIS, databases, reliability of data, data analysis and transformation of data into information.
The subject has an international, interdisciplinary nature and constitutes the basis for all environmental management activities. Geographic information system (GIS) is the most commonly used computer program in dealing with environmental issues because it allows for the integration of geographical information with other spatial data into an easy to use format.
