Open Space and Recreation Planning

An open space and recreation plan is a blueprint for how to obtain the benefits of development without losing valued environmental assets.  It incorporates information from a wide variety of sources to formulate both comprehensive and general plans for communities both large and small.

These plans must include site evaluation, sphere of influence studies, resource management, air and water quality management, noise impact and barrier analyses, visual impact analyses, recreation and tourism studies and must also address National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA), State Environmental Policy Act (SEPA) and California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) compliance.
